Don't Quit

The following poem has been with me for years. I carried it with me everyday during my time in the corporate world. It would be the first thing I would see every morning when I opened my dayplanner. The poem says a lot. Its' meaning can be applied to all areas of life. I have found it to be a source of motivation while building our home business.

READ, CONTEMPLATE, REREAD, PRINT and HANG ON WALL (or carry in dayplanner).

DON'T QUIT
by Author Unknown

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
when the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing you down a bit - rest if you must,
but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about when he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow - you may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man;
often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor's cup;
and he learned too late when the night came down,
how close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out - the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and when you never can tell how close you are,
it may be near when it seems afar;
so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit - it's when things seem worst,
you must not quit.

Are you stuck in your Comfort Zone

The 3 previous post are ones that we read often to help us move forward. But, before we could utilize all of the commandments we had to step out.

Step Out?

Step Out of what?

Our Comfort Zone. Everyone has a self built Comfort Zone and will live there until meaningful action is taken to step out. We refer to the following often.

THE COMFORT ZONE

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn’t fail.

The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I’d never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn‘t matter that I wasn’t doing much.
I said I didn’t care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

I couldn’t let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I’d never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

If you’re in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile; Success is there for you!

Our ATTITUDE ( Dr. Charles Swindoll)

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of ATTITUDE on life.

ATTITUDE to me is more important than facts.

ATTITUDE is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do.

ATTITUDE is more important than appearances, giftedness, or skill.

ATTITUDE will make or break a company, a church, or a home.

The remarkable thing is that we have a 'choice' every day regarding the ATTITUDE we will embrace.

We cannot change our past.

We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.

We cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we can do is play the one card God has dealt us - and that's our ATTITUDE.

I'm convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it, and so it is with you.

We are all in control of but one thing - our ATTITUDE."

10 Commandments Of MLM

1-- Thou shalt have thy mission, values, goals, and priorities in order, and work more on thyself than on thy business.

2-- Thou shalt copy genius by looking to top, proven leaders in thy field of endeavor for training and advice, so that thou will NOT fall into mediocrity. Thou shalt seek those who would be best to team up with to create joint ventures leading to the fruitful 'serving' of prospect upon prospect.

3-- Thou shalt think outside the box and market wisely without the use of hype, greed, and false promises, and use dimes for dollars, motivating offers so thou can gather pertinent prospect information along thy path.

4-- Thou shalt present prospects with complete and fulfilling benefits based on 'truth' that sets thee apart from all thy competitors. Thou shalt not 'close -but 'navigate'.

5-- Thou shalt position thyself as a 'servant' - to build relationships that last a lifetime.

6-- Thou shalt have multiple pre-sold, lead generating systems that provide a perpetual flow of prospects to help thou develop thy business in the way that it should go.

7-- Thou shalt target chosen markets according to the laws of good marketing practices, that have been tried and proven. Thou shalt educate - nor regurgitate.

8-- Thou shalt ask the question - "Who sells to thy prospects?" - so that thy selected target market can be reached over and over again for endless satisfaction of 'need' upon 'need'.

9-- Thou shalt use a multi-step follow-up process, that develops and nurtures 'relationships' with prospects - so thy prospects can be lead along the narrow path and developed into loyal customers and trusting, respected distributors.

10-- Thou shalt NOT force or pressure prospects to make decisions. Thou shalt provide good information and make trial offers to 'build relationships' so thy prospects/customers will 'desire' to do business with thee - again and again. Thou shalt foster in them -hope - possibilities - belief.

11-- Thou shalt give thy prospects MORE than they expect.

10 Commandments Of LEADERSHIP

1-- People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered. >>> Love them anyway.

2-- If you do good - people will accuse you of selfish, alterior motives. >>> Do good anyway.

3-- If you are successful - you win false friends and true enemies. >>> Succeed anyway.

4-- The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. >>> Do good anyway.

5-- Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. >>> Be honest and frank anyway.

6-- The biggest people, with the biggest ideas - can be shot down by the littlest people with the littlest ideas. >>> Think big anyway.

7-- People 'favor' underdogs - but 'follow' only top dogs. >>> Fight for underdog anyway.

8-- What you spend 'years' building - may be destroyed overnight. >>> Build anyway.

9-- People really need help - but may attack you if you 'do' help them. >>> Help them anyway.

10-- Give the world the best you've got - and you'll get kicked in the teeth. >>> Give the best you've got anyway.

Are you working Spare-time or Part-time?

A lot of people are not clear on the difference between spare-time and part-time. This is not a good situation especially when a vast majority of people start their home business while they are still working a fulltime job.

So what is the biggest difference? Spare-time will give you very little return and Part-time will give you a huge return. Part-time is scheduled time and spare-time is wasted time.

Spare-time - Let's get real, who has any spare-time. Spare-time is just extra time. How do you schedule spare-time? How do you know when your spare-time will show up? Think back, how many spare-time jobs did you have after school. How many of you work a spare-time job right now? Spare-time is the time that we waste. It comes and goes without being noticed throughout your day. It is usually wasted on that extra joke or bit of gossip at the water cooler, surfing the web just to be surfing, watching TV because nothing is planned and so many other things.

Part-time - Let's get real again, everyone can do something part-time. Part-time is time that is scheduled for a task. You know when your part-time activities will happen because you have scheduled that time to take care of them. Did you have a part-time job after school or have one now? How long would you last if you just worked that job in your spare-time? Working part-time allows you to set specific hours you need to work.

So, erase the word spare-time from your vocabulary when you are talking about your home business. There is only two ways to work a home business effectively, part-time or full-time.

Someone once stated, "Work full-time at your job to pay the bills and work part-time at your home business to build your future."

What is a WHY?

Figure out your WHY! Write your WHY down! Focus on your WHY! These are phrases you will hear as you are looking into personal development or if you have joined a network marketing company. Your WHY is something you deal with everyday even if you have never heard about it.

So what is WHY? WHY is what gets you up in the mornings, keeps you going all day long and it causes you to do things that you normally wouldn't. It causes you to step out of your comfort zone. Your WHY is your PURPOSE. It is something that is bigger than you are. A WHY is as individual as the person who created it.

To help figure out your WHY, I have found that a problem solving technique I learned in my last job works great. The technique is called 5 WHY. It is designed to make you ask WHY at least 5 times to get to the root of the problem or concept. 5 why's is a average to get to the root cause, it may take more or less. A simple example:

I want my own business. WHY? own business

I can earn what I am worth. WHY? earn more

I need more money. WHY? more money

More money would allow me to have more time freedom. WHY? more time freedom

More time freedom will allow me to do more things. WHY? more things

I want to spend more time with my family and also teach and train people to become more and have more.

Above is a simple example of using 5 WHY, but is an example where you control the WHY's and answers. It's not pretty to use it on something someone else controls, like your job. Asking WHY will put you in control of your future by helping you identify your WHY or PURPOSE.

Figuring out your WHY might come easy for some and be rather difficult for others. Most people go through life day by day. They let situations dictate what happens in their lives. By inlarge, people are reactive and not proactive. Establishing your why moves you to that proactive group of people that are determined to take control of their lives.

Your WHY will tie everything together. Even your goals need a WHY to back them up. A goal of earning $10,000 per month will happen quicker and with less hassle if it has a WHY to be tied to.

Your WHY or PURPOSE should be your internal compass always pointing you to your dreams.

Do You Have a WHY? Create your WHY and watch your world change!
